Video Editor/Graphic Designer

The Shanti Bhavan Children’s Project is seeking a video editor/graphic designer who can bring life to our message and attention to the vital work we do. The ideal candidate will collaborate with Shanti Bhavan’s Marketing Manager to produce video content for various paid advertising streams, the Shanti Bhavan website, and our Youtube channel. In addition, the right candidate for this position will be able to work independently or with our existing graphic designers and photographers to produce eye-catching graphics for our social media channels, newsletters, and website. 


  • Computer fluency in Mac and PC
  • Experience with video pre-production and post-production
  • Experience with animation
  • Experience creating graphics, titles, and other similar assets
  • Experience sourcing music for videos
  • Experience with retouching photographic images
  • Fluency with prominent paid advertising platforms (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) and their content requirements
  • Familiarity with basic marketing concepts, such as funnels, audiences, and lead magnets
  • Creativity and originality

Position Details

  • $25-30 per hour, commensurate with experience
  • 5-15 hours per month
  • 6-month contract, with the possibility of extensions 
  • Remote position

About Shanti Bhavan Children’s Project

Shanti Bhavan has been in existence for nearly 27 years and has been profiled on the Discovery Channel, ABC World News, NPR, Glamour Magazine’s “Get Schooled” video series, and in books and periodicals, such as Thomas Friedman’s The World Is Flat and the New York Times. In 2017, the four-part Netflix Original Documentary series Daughters of Destiny featured Shanti Bhavan.

Shanti Bhavan serves children of the lowest caste. All the children in the program hail from socio-economically depressed areas of India and are mainly from the “untouchable,” or Dalit, communities. The mission of Shanti Bhavan is to empower children from India’s lowest socioeconomic class to break the cycle of generational poverty through education, leadership, and compassion. Each child is provided full tuition and room and board while attending school. Shanti Bhavan means “haven of peace,” and the school truly is a haven for students from prekindergarten to twelfth grade. They receive a world-class education in a safe and nurturing environment.
