villagers waiting in line

Dear Friend,

The COVID-19 situation continues to deteriorate in India.

Fortunately, our children and staff remain safe and healthy. In April, the children went home for a short break to visit their families and are now returning to campus. All returning students are quarantined at our local medical center—Baldev Medical Center—and at designated dorms for 14 days. To date, we have had no positive COVID-19 cases on campus.

Covid-19 support in India

While prominent media outlets focus on the impact of COVID-19 in urban hubs, the effect on rural areas is very serious. The government-mandated lock-down has left rural communities without non-farm jobs and little to no access to necessities such as food, medical care, and other essential services.

Thanks to your support, since beginning our outreach in April 2020, we have impacted nearly 14,000 men, women, and children. These rural communities rely on Shanti Bhavan for assistance, especially as their resources become limited.

Our most recent distribution of vital supplies was on April 24-25th. With your support, Shanti Bhavan will continue to support those in greatest need.

  • A gift of $50 will support one family of 4 for one month.

  • A gift of $100 will support one family of 4 for two months.

Please consider donating today to the COVID-19 Sustainability Fund.

Thank you for your continued belief in Shanti Bhavan and the work we do during this unprecedented time.
