Meet Shilpa in Person

We are honored to welcome Shilpa Raj as a featured speaker at this year’s galas.

Shilpa’s journey from a childhood marked by profound economic hardship to becoming a powerful voice for dignity, education, and opportunity has inspired audiences around the world. She was prominently featured in the award-winning Netflix docuseries Daughters of Destiny, which followed several students growing up at Shanti Bhavan. Shilpa later shared her full story in her memoir, The Elephant Chaser’s Daughter, offering a deeply personal account of resilience, family, and the life-changing power of education.

Shilpa will share her personal journey and reflect on how education transformed her life and why the mission of Shanti Bhavan continues to matter for the next generation of children.
