Marketing Manager

It Starts with You

In a room of one hundred people, you’d confidently—and accurately—identify yourself as one of the top ten in attention to detail. You’re the person others trust to catch what they’ve missed, to refine what’s rough, to elevate what’s good into something exceptional.

You manage marketing with an understanding of how each narrative, asset, and touchpoint fits together to guide someone through a journey.  You know how to design campaigns that inspire action, build trust, and drive results. You’re fluent in donor funnels, lead generation pathways, and revenue-oriented storytelling—and you can translate analytics into strategy with clarity and confidence. Added bonus if you’re a HubSpot expert who can build automated workflows, segment audiences intelligently, and optimize engagement at every stage of the funnel.

You’re someone who leads with integrity and can be trusted to follow through on your commitments. You welcome feedback as an opportunity to grow and improve. And you excel in a collaborative team environment, where shared wins and collective impact matter most.

Most importantly, you’re not someone who settles for the status quo. You’re energized by the opportunity to rethink and reimagine what’s possible—and you’re ready to take our marketing to the next level with fresh ideas, bold creativity, and strategic excellence.

You thrive in environments where mission matters, stories have power, and excellence is an act of service. You’re energized by big-picture strategy, grounded in disciplined execution, and moved by the possibility that your work can change the trajectory of a child’s life.

If this sounds like you, you may be the next Marketing Manager at Shanti Bhavan Children’s Project.

This role is both visionary and hands-on: you’ll craft narratives that inspire global audiences, drive donor engagement, and elevate brand visibility—while managing a diverse team of creative contractors.

The ideal candidate blends creativity, operational excellence, and thoughtful leadership. You know how to turn insights into action, stories into revenue, and campaigns into impact.

This role includes 3 weeks of required annual travel to our India campus to gather stories, interviews, photos, and multimedia assets integral to our GivingTuesday and year-end fundraising campaigns.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Marketing & Leadership
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy to elevate brand awareness, lead generation, donor engagement, and organizational visibility.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a cross-functional contractor team (graphic design, social media, copy editing, video editing).
  • Oversee website optimization, SEO, email marketing, and digital presence across channels.
  • Collaborate closely with the Development, Sponsorship, and team at large to ensure unified messaging and synchronized campaign execution.
Content & Communications
  • Produce and manage two monthly newsletters:
    • Informational Newsletter: Program updates, impact stories, school insights
    • Fundraising Newsletter: Donor cultivation, stewardship, and revenue-oriented messaging
  • Craft multimedia stories that resonate with donors, partners, influencers, and global audiences.
  • Ensure all content aligns with Shanti Bhavan’s brand voice, core values, and mission impact.
Fundraising Marketing

  • Support lead generation and pipeline development for the Major Gifts team.
  • Plan and execute GivingTuesday and End-of-Year fundraising campaigns.
  • Use segmentation, funnel strategy, and donor-centered storytelling to increase conversion and retention.
  • Drive performance toward fundraising goals by tying marketing activities directly to financial KPIs, including total funds raised, donor acquisition, and campaign ROI.
Analytics & Optimization
  • Track performance across email, digital ads, social media, and website analytics; report insights and optimize accordingly.
  • Partner with SEO/Ads contractors and earned media partners to elevate visibility.
  • Expand influencer, media, and brand-partnership networks.

Travel Requirements

  • 3 weeks annually in India (June–August) for content gathering and immersion at our school campus.
  • 1 week annually in Seattle for the all-team on-site summit (April–May).

Additional Responsibilities

  • Develop marketing collateral, including impact reports, donor decks, brochures, and presentations.
  • Stay up to date on nonprofit marketing trends and incorporate best practices.

  • YOY growth in the small-to-mid donor revenue channel.
  • Contribution to GivingTuesday and End-of-Year fundraising goals.
