About the Shanti Bhavan Music Fellowship

Shanti Bhavan empowers children from India’s lowest socioeconomic class to break the cycle of generational poverty through education, leadership, and compassion.

Broadway for Arts Education provides comprehensive music education, including general music classes, private instruction in piano, violin, and voice, and choir classes for a vibrant community of over 200 children aged 4-18. As a Music Fellow, you will be expected to:

  • Teach general music classes to 2nd-5th Grade
  • Introduce music activities to Pre-K- 1st Grade
  • Lead high school and middle school choirs
  • Teach lessons on your primary instrument(s)
  • Supervise and assist virtual music lessons in piano, guitar, and voice
  • Manage student leaders in the music program
  • Maintain instruments, music library, technology, etc.
  • Attend monthly staff meetings and have weekly check-ins with the Director of the Music Program
