Gowri Manoharan

Director of Operations

During a spring afternoon in 2022, I discovered the compelling documentary, Daughters of Destiny, and was instantly captivated by its impactful stories. I knew right away that this organization would be a part of my life, and wasted no time reaching out.

While my academic path began in Psychology, a shift toward Information Technology had led me to a rewarding senior management career within the Canadian Public Service, at Global Affairs Canada, and the Canadian Immigration and Refugee Board. It was Shanti Bhavan’s mission, however, that truly resonated with my aspirations, drawing me to engage with and contribute to their transformative work.

Originally from Sri Lanka, my life’s journey wound its way from Nigeria to Canada, where I now reside with my husband and two children. I find deep joy in family time and meaningful professional endeavours. My work not only allows me to meld both as Shanti Bhavan functions much like an extended family, but it also allows me to engage in my passion, which is to support team members as they pursue a broad range of initiatives on behalf of our kids.

It is an honour and a privilege to be part of our mission, and every interaction with each child and team member is a profound reminder of how Shanti Bhavan aligns with the universal core value of positively impacting the world.
